World In Reverse
I wanted something that felt fast and slow at the same time, the sense of wanting to move forward but being held in place. Not in a frustrating way, but more like finding yourself pausing, patiently, and reflecting on where you've been and where you're going. The music isn't being broadcast at you, it's just part of this interstitial moment in time and space.
This piece was performed entirely on the Korg phase8 electro-acoustic synthesizer. I made judicious use of stock Logic effects like delay, reverb, and pitch shifting (the instrument only has one octave). Otherwise I left the sounds pretty much as I recorded them. Even the percussion was the result of physical manipulation of the resonators (placing stones and other objects on the tines).
